Had a bit of downtime while I was in Atlanta this week so took a trip downtown to visit the aquarium. Never been myself, but heard lots of good things about it and man oh man was I not disappointed. I will say that while the normal tour you do on your own was amazing, the behind the scenes tour this little old lady named Judi gave a couple of us Canadians because we were 'nice people' was out of this world. I guess it normally costs 15 bucks and they take you to a few spots, ole Judi gave us the tour for free and took us deep into the infrastructure.
First up, freshwater
BTW - they make very heavy use of Mangroves in the fresh, brakish and saltwater tanks. I asked why and it is for the same reason we use them, for filtration and for great places for fish to hide and lay eggs.
