Good Pellet Food

Hello ... I was looking to see if others use any pellet foods for their fish and corals and if so what brand/size they use. I'm looking at primarily using it to occasionally feed mushrooms, frogspawn and any other coral that would benefit from it. Of course I'm sure the fish will be interested as well.

I used to keep Discus several years ago and still have some New Life Spectrum Discus pellets. They are small sinking pellets but are designed for freshwater fish. So I wasn't sure if it would be a good idea to feed this food to reef inhabitants. If not then I would like to find a substitute for occasional feedings ... like maybe once every couple weeks.

Thanks ... Dave.

OK Cool ... but mine were made for freshwater fish so I wasn't sure if that would be an issue. Although to be honest I currently occasionally feed Cobalt - Pro Breeder Flakes and everything goes nuts for it. It shows fresh and saltwater fish on the label so I assumed it was fine. Realistically I guess most foods are fine in small quantities. :)

And yeah for frozen I have mysis, brine shrimp, reef frenzy and the occasional leftover from frozen shrimp/scallop mixture that I chop up to feed the anemones and some LPS. I had planned on making my own food mixture but haven't gotten that far yet. To be honest I was just looking for something that I could spot feed the mushrooms, palys and frogspawn with.

I love using reef roids for that , just a little bit and Turkey base them ,

Oh yeah ... Actually I have Reef Roids as well. My buddy gave me some when I got the tank about a year ago ... a little goes a long way. I feed that about once a week. However it's unclear as to if many of the corals are benefiting from it. I don't see the mushrooms or frogspawn close up around it.

Yeah ... I may have to get some of the New Life Marine pellets. Any thoughts on the New Life that I currently have for Discus? Should I give it a try or just switch to the one for Marine?

I have some sealed soft pellets available. They are past expiry, but if you buy another food, they are free :)

I love my New Era Marine and New Era Algae pellets. I recently tried frostbite and it is great as well. My fish enjoy both. Some of my corals eat the frostbite as the pellets are smaller. I like the mix of the 2.
