GTAA Big News!!!

For those on GTAA, I thought it only right to make sure that you got the new news about that site. I myself had not logged in there in a few weeks. Since I stopped running North, the site was not useful to me as I really only went there for the classifieds. This is in no way a flame towards them, but I know a lot of our members are members there and may have missed their update. It seems from the mods comments that it came as a surprise to them as well.

Interesting conversation over there about it. Free, open and run by hobbyists is great if we can keep it that way but in terms of cost and administration how does this site manage so well and is it safe in the long term?

ya its cold out there this time of year.. I find the fast food drive thru the best place.


This site is run on donations, and ricks pocket book, if we get low on funds we just make a post and I can bet that any costs will be covered fast.  Although that has never come up since we bank every donated dollar and only use the fund for fragtank stuff.

we used some of it this year to purchase a table at fragfest. 

We haven't gotten large enough that the server hardware is an issue, yet

Either was we are golden for a while just toss us 5 bucks every once in a while so I can buy new outfits for the drive-thrus

holocron states basically that the site was too big for him to manage. There were mods, but all they did was mod threads and accept new members etc. If there is stuff that is needed on this site, such as coding, we work together and get it done. We do not leave it all to just one person. Maybe one day we will be as big as GTAA with their "visited by over 1000 people per day!". But even then, it would just be a task of asking for more reefers to volunteer time and knowledge to keep things going.
