So I wake up this morning to a god damn night club light show over my nano reef tank with all my SPS in it. Apparently my par 38 bulb has decided to act like a strobe light and is flickering on and off in a steady pattern. I have tried it in many outlets around the house and same problem... This could not come at a worse time because I'm supposed to be catching a bus home today for the holidays at 1!! If ANYONE is in the Guelph area and can help me out today, you will be forever in my debt.. I honestly have no Idea what to do unless someone has a par 38 bulb kicking around or can let me borrow a good compact light fixture that will cover me for about a week until I can get something new... or take all of my coral.. But that's last resort. I am freaking out a bit. In my experience, when things go wrong with my tank it's always at the absolute most inconvenient time.

CRISIS AVERTED. Apparently I either have a future as an electrician or a pastor because i took the bulb apart and did some tinkering as well as banged the crap out of it a few times and then said a few hail mary's and VOILA it worked! Maybe there is a god or I'm just really lucky...

If I were you I would make plans to replace the bulb asap and perhaps order a spare at the same time.
this would absolutley be my plan, someone here just had an episode with a failing lamp on their sump or small DT seems to me.
dont know if i could trust a light to function for a week if i had to bang the crap out of it to get it to work
