Hermit colony?

Anyone else have their hermits feeding in little 'herds' and clustering together at night?  Every night about 12 of them crawl into my confusa coral...which doesn't seem to mind.  I've never seen this kind of thing in 15 years of doing this, and they are doing it nightly.  During the day they are off in groups of 3-5, looking for good feeding grounds.  Weird thing is, they're all different types (although similar size).  Just curious if anyone else has noticed this.

I saw that, was it a snail or the armour plate thing the snail uses when it closes up?  I couldn't tell.

I've got about 5 or 6 that run in a pack when feeding and sleeping
