When is hot to hot? My tank as I'm looking at my temp display is now at 27.1C. Usually I'm at 25.3. When do I panic? What can I do? I don't have a chiller. If I start adding frozen bottles it will raise my sump depth and screw my ato and skimmer.

you could try adding some frozen bottles to your ATO reservoir, may help a bit. Run AC if you have it.

I would not worry about it too much 27 C is 80 F many reefers including myself will run their tanks at this temp. I would say if you start hitting 32 C it is time to take so action. What you do not want to do raise and drop temp's too quickly. You would be better of just leaving it. Something I was told a while ago by a friend in HAC is to run Thermostats in Imp. or standard mode as the equipment is more controllable in Fahrenheit.
Example 1 degree C is 1.8 F so instead of dealing with a 1 degree shift you are dealing with almost a 2 degree. I must say that when I switch my house Thermostat to Imp. I noticed a much less swing in the feel of temperature in the house, does not sound like much but at almost 2 degree swing and add Humidity it is, and I noticed the Furnace and AC works much better, as in it has an easier time holding it at the set temp. So if you have temp. controllers you may want to set them for Fahrenheit.

71 ??
That seems crazy cold!
74 or 75 works for me, as long as the humidity is taken out.

Tank at 78 so not too much of a temp difference.

Its the 68 in the winter that is tough to heat the tank to 78.

What about adding a FEW RO ice cubes to the sump. Would this work as if there was ATO water being put in? In addition to slightly cooling the sump?

Hihi, 250lbs was only yesterday, today? :D

You can run your light at night and off during the day. This will also save you some some on the bill:)

I run mine from 6 pm to 2 am. Cut my bill big time.

My yank has hit 82,83 before when I was running halides. Now with T5 is 77-79.

Coral a remarkably tough.

I'm sure its at least this hot on the reefs where all our corals and fish originate. nobody dumping ice in the water there. If anything, my heater get a well deserved break.
