so I watched vids on how to get clown fish that have never seen an anemone before host one after all but a little sceptical on this for 1 reason my anemone is on a rock that's debatable a little big for this little attempt .
So how it works need a tank that the width is wide enough so the a strainer can fit in side the tank and holds itself\floats.and then you have your anemone with clown fish in it , most people say within a day the clows are hosting it no problem and then put them back in the tank and it works .
So my anemone& rock is probably a little to big with 2 clowns in ( unless I find a deeper strainer to make a little more room for everyone ).

Or

I was thinking of setting up my 10 gallon tank , and use 5 gallons of my dpt's water and keep the anemone and the 2 clowns and then take my one kessil light off my tank on the 10 gallon for about 1-2 days max ? Would I need flow for this ? And I think maybe RO top off but do you guys thing that stuff like mag, alk , nitrites, phos etc change in a 10 gallon tank in 2 days max ? Where it would effect the anemone?
Lol don't think I'm crazy ! Im just cheesed my clown fish have moved on from my old anemone ( that died 5 months ago) to my duncan coral for the past few months and I don't want to get rid of it and don't want to set up a frag tank for 1 duncan coral lol ...

God dammit, not this again. I tried for a month, no dice. I will ask for the the EXACT pic that worked for you. I will try that one. My nem is finally in a spot that I quite like and hasn't moved in 3 months so he's clearly content.

Please send me the exact pic used, and I will try cause I've had many people tell me it worked for them. As it stands now, LITERALLY one clown spends most of it's time top back left of the tank, while the other is top back right of the tank, while the nem is pretty much dead center more towards the front. It's like they all hate eachother.

Luke can't you make a custom box out of egg crate and cable ties exact size you want.
I don't think taking them out of the tank into a 10 is the best idea.
My friend just used a storage box from dollar store. Worked great.

if they are hosting bugging your Duncan, would it be easier to just remove it for a bit...maybe they will have no option but to go to your nem...just a thought..

Lol it works ! but the strainer idea is even better! maybe using a ATO setup like jbj plus aqua lifter pump setup on a heater controller or a timer 15 mins on/off. aqua lifter takes water from 10 g tank, puts it back into the DT. JBJ ato float kicks in taking water from the DT and replenishing the 10 ? if you have this equipment it would be a easy setup

IMO Heaths idea is a great route

I'm actually being 100% serious! It took 3 days and he got interest with this trick. This is the exact pic I used. Place it right infront of the nem.

Picture is taped to the glass. The clowns seemed a little put off at first, but now they are back in the toadstool. Hopefully they will get the hint soon!
