Just Noticed This.

Looking around I found this in the "dark corners" of my tank. It is a white half sphere which looks somewhat solid with fuzz from the angle I have.

Any ideas??

Hard to tell from the pic but Probably a sponge. I have some that look like that.

Yup, looking at it some more looks sponge like.

How do they factor in reef health by the way?

they are filter feeders, water in water out, particulates captured and digested in a round about way. Angel food too.

Just to add to reefgeek they are very effective at converting desolved solids into clean water. They have also found a symbolic relationship with good bacteria.

best part is they stay to the dark areas and help angel colour as well as other fish

The do come up from time to time - they come in orange and blue mostly. They are very delicate and cannot be exposed to air. They don't do well in low nutrient systems.

You probably have lots of sponges in your sump and live rock.
