Quick question:
How fast can I add saturated limewater to a 220 gallon tank?
I hadn't been keeping a close watch because I didn't think I had enough to deplete calcium that fast.

I was going to put a bucket of kalk in today, but I don't know how fast is too fast.

Would 5 gallons per hour be too fast?  What if I add vinegar to help with the pH rise?

Thanks for your help.

I'm only adding 2% over an hour... A bucket should only add about 10 ppm Ca.
My question is more about how quickly the ph goes down after an addition.

I'm installing my ATO later this week.  That's how I'll be adding from now on.

How long is your ato on and how fast does it pump?

Thanks for all the help.

I dripped it in over about 10 hours.  Parameters went up exactly what I thought they would.  No ill effects to any tank inhabitants, however, I think the carbon in the vinegar caused a slight algae bloom - which wasn't unexpected.  The water is slightly cloudy.
