OK, looking at moving away from the 400W MH to LED, these seem to be looking good (the Orphek ones are too tall to put above my aquarium and get them any distance from the water).  I currently run XM20K bulbs and the tank is 36" tall

Anyone got anything negative to say about them (either the 12K or the Blue)

If I went this route I would likely go all 12K and put on actinic supplement via T5 or maybe some other LED lighting.

Thoughts?

dont expect these 100w cannons to replace your 400w MH.  Probably need at least 200 watt LED to do that...maybe a bit more.

The best part of running LED are the blue's.....using only 12k LED and T5 actinic you are not going to be getting the best part of led.

What do you mean, the best part?

Seems like the best balance that people do is 1 blue and 1 12K side by side, to me that isn't 200W, but maybe it would be enough??

Royal blue LEDs hit the fluorescence of the corals like crazy.  If your not running an "actinic" period with blue LEDs you are missing out of the best aspect of running LEDs IMO.

and going back Im just saying that dont expect to swap out 1 for 1.  That 100w cannon will not put out the same amount of light as a 400w MH.
