Led Selection

So my LED black boxes have all died am looking to replace them. Since I don’t have the money for the radions I’m going for more of the Chinese lights. I am thinking of going with the Dsuny lights but there are two different arrangements so am looking for opinions

I have the two options below.

Just seems really white, almost like my planted tank was. I don't have much for coral yet so can't comment on the growth

I also find mine a bit more on the white side, these lights are really bright, I'm running my whites at 35% and blues at 75% during my peak.

I have the first one and I like it although I do run my whites no higher than 40 percent and my blues up around 80. I do like a bluer tank my self.

About to order DSunY as well, the 48" model here for my 90 gallon mixed reef with some sps but mainly lps, zoas. The tank is 48*18(w)*24(d). I am replacing Marineland Reef Capable LED's I've had for over 5 years. Anyone with experience with this model? Hoping one set will be good for the tank and not need two. They don't have any reds or greens - any issues with this?

I doubt one will be enough,I have two over a 65 maybe a bit much but not by much.
When you say you have “two”, do you mean 2 panels or 2 sets which would mean 4 panels? The ones I am looking at are 2 panels, 24” each so they run the length of the 48” tank. I’m wondering about width with coverage front to back. Do you have 2 panels paralel to each other for width?
Thx for any details and your experience with these.

@Kjmsmith Two panels will be enough coverage on your tank at 10" above the water. My understanding of having the red and green mixed in is that it helps those colours pop on fish and corals and it helps to fill in the spectrum but their not necessary for coral growth.

I have two 36” panels over my 72” tank, 8” off the water. It’s 22” front to back. What you ordered should be sufficient.

Thanks everyone that is helpful. Can I ask if you're happy with the lights? Good growth, nice colour etc? I’m tossing between these lights or two Ocean Revive T24B http://www.oceanrevivellc.com/goods.php?id=21. The DSuny have nice features ramp up, moon, wifi etc which I dont really care about but if the lights themselves are good these are a nice bonus. The ocean revive are basically 2 channel with timed on-off?

I have been using Dsuny on my 75g for over a year now. I like them a lot. they have the features that you need/want and they do have very nice colour. Growth is also very good. I would use them again. The leather that you see in my Avatar was about 1 1/2" when I bought it 4 months ago. It is about 8" now. It's been under the Dsuny lights for that amount of time.

Hope this helps.

That's the problem with D's. That they make so many variations of lights, so obviously mine are not like yours, if you've got total coverage then your good. It's really hard to compare with out pictures, only thing I'd like to add is to keep them at least 12 inches off the water and start off with a lower light setting those LEDs are very powerful.

Decided to go with two of the Ocean Revive T24-B. Although the DSuny has all the bells and whistles, I think the OR’s will give me the coverage I want. DSuny has good support as they were quick to answer all my questions, as was OR, but with the everchanging combinations of DSuny lights as Jewel pointed out, the OR’s seem to have a proven design that has been consistent and good reviews and are full spectrum. I’m not sure if anyone on this forum is using them but I’ll be sure to share my findings when I get them set up :)

I went with the dsunnys because I got a good deal on them, I didn't know how good they were until other had told me about them but also I think it was winks who had them set up on a schedule in which I copied and it seems to be working my Corals are happy and my RBTA hasn't moved since I got him. So yes I'm happy with the lights but skeptable. Their was a time when I has MH and they were for ever blowing bulbs or ballasts or both so I keep my T- 5 on the ready.
