This will sound like a stupid question to most of you, but i'm gonna throw it out there anyway :). I currently have 3x160w 2blue:1white cheapo led fixtures on my 6ff tank.  Zoas, mushrooms, lobo, leathers, torches, and birdsnests all seem happy.  Aesthetically, it looks a little too blue for my liking.  Would there be a negative effect if i were to add something like these?

How much room do you have between the front/back of your LEDs and the front/back of your tank?  Have you considered supplemental T5s?  Then you could play with tons of different bulbs to get the right colour balance.  I added 1 tube on either side of my DIY fixtures and love the results, helps even out hotspots.

Considered that.  Big bucks for 6ft though, or even 2x3ft.  Might be the surefire way to go though.

Retrofit the t5 you are adding. Wouldn't be big bucks.

Bart84 suggested these

What do you think?

My neighbour has made a bunch of DIY t5 fixtures with these and has always had great success. I grabbed 2 36" ones from him as I am considering supplementing my LEDs with t5

At this point i think i'll get 3 24" since my tank has 2 braces.  Should be easy enough to install in canopy (once i get around to building it!)

ive got a 10w rgb version of these flood lights, it could light a 5g tank and wouldnt over power anything,, if you r still considering these  i would suggest 2 20w or even 30w with a little height and i would also do the 8500k,,, or even 2 smaller blue lights and keep the blues off in the fixtures..

Where did you get yours?  Can't find any that are 8500k.  What kind of coverage do they give?  Don't want any sort of spotlight effect.

I'm torn between suggestions i've been given!  I will be trying one of the following (each option x3 due to tank bracing):

LED Flood

Par 30 (True Sun)

Single Bulb T5

I've never been led astray by this community, so please toss in your 2 cents and help me choose!  :)
