So my aquaticlife 48" 6 bulb t5 fixture died on me. I had to dust off my MH coralife unit to get by for now but the bulbs are pretty much useless, the ballasts sound like a 100000 watt transformer buzzing and the blue t5's in it don't even work.... decisions decisions. Anyone have any used equipment? didn't see much on the classified section... I could buy 2 kessils or a 6 bulb ATI t5 controllable unit is about the same money... both are more than I want to spend...????
Tank also needs a couple new power heads.. uggg... wife says I should just sell it all.
If I do go new lighting would 2 AO series 100w Kessil's really light up as well as 6 t5's? I would think they would give a lot more shadows but I do love the shimmer for the LED's and if 2-100w LED's could do the job vs 6-54w t5 that's a bonus also. I know the hybrid LED/T5's are the Cadillac but at over 2k I don't think that's going to happen.
Any opinions??

I have a pair of pfo 250w pendants with adjustable/dimmable ballasts. They are de and you would need new bulbs eventually. They have 20k in them now

$100 for all of it. Would cover the 90 easy

what do you have in the tank.. is it just fish or do you have corals.. that is something that you need to think about.. if the lights are too strong or hot you could end up with fish soup...
