well tank is almost here, and after seeing Kevin's tank, I think I'm underpowered. He had so much flow, and everything was amazing And unreal polyp extension.

I like the ecotech for the lack of wires and the wireless communication.

I currently have 2 mp40 and a gyre 150.

Should I be looking at another mp40, or 2? Or an mp60 and mp40.

It's like a money free fall, but once it's done, it's done lol

I find the mp40 isnt strong enough for 6ft length, but that could just be my experience..id opt for the mp60qd and then you can dial it down if its to much. Just my 2 cents.

I run two MP 60 and one MP40 on my 180. The MP60 are front top left and right and the MP40 in back of the tank on the right side wall. I have to turn down both MP 60 as they are crazy flow.

I run a wave box on my 46 gallon and I am not a fan, they take up so much space and it is an eye sore for me. The MP 60 and 40 are a way better water mover in my opinion and take up way less space.

I went external overflow to get the equipment out of the tank. For the money I can get a pair of mp40qd they have more flow than the old mp40s. At 220 gallons how many gph do I need in the tank for sps? 14000-22000?

I'm a firm believer in not over buying things you don't need.

I'd suggest to use what you have first and add any that you may need down the road.

There is not true answer to exactly how much flow is "needed" for sps. Some factors come into play when detereflow. Like how your rock work is set up, where your sps are, how your flow is entering the tank from your return pump.

My suggestion is to set it up with what you have first. Gauge the flow then determine what you need to add.

Too many people get caught up in the "Oooooo, I want that!" and end up with equipment that's way overkill

Just my opinion
