Well I just picked up a Purple Antheia. Get it home and set ready to start a drip acclimation.  I cut the bag open to put contents into container and slip. Drop bag on counter and out slips the fish flopping away on counter. EPIC FAIL in clumsiness.
So place your Bets on whether it will survive or not because I had no choice but just to pick it up and plop it right into the tank.
Next time I'll make sure to have a trap container to hold contents in case this happens again.
The fish dove right into a hiding spot and hasn't done much.

I've done this with fish in between my 2 systems because the temp and salinity is similar.

You *should* be ok, only time will tell though.

Yup, 'should' be okay...should be the operative word. I am sure it is not much more shocking then breathing the air that was on your counter top, he is probably happy to be salt water no matter what the ph or salinity. I have just plopped several fish in my tanks and never had an issue.

Id be more worried about what or if the fish is bringing into your tank, was he healthy ?

It really depends on where you got in from in my opinion. Some stores have the salt levels so low this could be a big shock to it. Fingers crossed.

Update. Its all good still It's still hiding but otherwise looks ok.    And yep it came from aqua. Tanks and service have been a great improment over the past 6 months.  Since there was a slight change in management.
