Noticed some sand at the bottom of my protein skimmer. Is this normal to get sometimes? Should I clean it out somehow?

Seems like a great place for bacteria to culture.
I think it all comes down to what type of skimmer you have (if it isn't affecting your skimmer or pumps I say leave it) and your own personal preference.
