Bought a 200 gallon aquarium with dual 1'' overflows, and i'm trying to figure out which pump i should use. My sump will be located in the basement with 12ft of head. Looking for something quiet, less heat generated the better and still get good flow. But don't want to send a fortune. Lets hear your suggestions.

Gen-x mak4.....dont know who has um new but you see them come up used every so often for around $100.  I run my basement sump from one....2.5yrs and have never cleaned it or done anything...they are work horses....plus low wattage at around 100watts.

I have 2 - 1 inch siphons running to the basement.. 30 feet of horizontal plumbing.  I run a reeflo hammerhead gold.  Its poinched in quite a bit and woudl probably do better with the barracuda impellor on it.

If you are running 2 1in  siphons full speed look for something in the flow rate of 3000gph at the head you are running.  That will give you head room for anything extra you want plumbed into the main system.
If you are goign to pinch in on the siphon speed.. go with a smaller pump.  Depends on how much flkow you want through your sump.  High flow can lead to bubble issues and salt creep.  I am usuing my hammerhead as a the main source of flow in the tank so thats why  I went larger and faster through the sump.

Im at about 12' as well from my basement sump. i run a little giant 4mdqx i think is the model number. It provides plenty of flow up from the basement, and also runs all my reactors..All for 70watts

Keep in mind, all the pumps mentioned so far are external pumps. You wont have to worry about heat transmission with an external pump

the gold is quieter, runs cooler, more efficcient.  I had both had the regular one go bad so they sent me a gold version to replace it.... Huge difference.

I'm selling my Iwaki 70RT pressure pump if you're interested. It is the Japanese model. It runs quiet, cool and because it is a pressure pump, you will have no issues moving water from the basement whatsoever. PM me if you're interested at all.
