Upgraded my lighting to the Radion. For installation was simply going to drill through the hood and place it on top. Would starting at 25% and working up to 45% over 3 to 4 weeks be appropriate for acclimation? Not sure if sure go higher but seeing lots of posts about over doing it and losing corals. I am planning on using one of the pre set schedules. Any thoughts?

Current corals:
Duncan
Hammer
Zoas and Palys
Open brain
Maze brain
Flowerpot
Mushrooms
Leathers
Xenia
Acan

My initial thoughts is that it would be too close to the water, probably better to remove the top and use the RMS mount.

Was hoping to just keep the hood as my fish are jumpers. I upgraded my lighting last year from the stock lighting to an led retro fit kit that didn’t last. Worked great and corals we’re happy until it died. Figured if I drilled a hole through the top, the Radion could sit up there and would still be a little higher than the other LED’s were. They LED’s may have been spread out a little more but not much. I have not had any experience with these units but figured I just keep the intensity on the lower end?

You definitely want to go higher. Get a mesh lid.
With a radion that close and tank that size you probably never want to go over 15-20% max
