Most anthias are like that as well.

I could be wrong but I think anthias are the opposite - they all start out as hermaphroditic females, and the most dominant fish turns male (and all have that capability if the next male dies). Clowns start out hermaphroditic as Torx noted, and then the dominant fish turns female as opposed to male.

That's completely true.

I was more talking about the similarities for changing sex.

In cleaner wrasses the male maintains his harem and allocates cleaning duties to each female so that they will get enough food to survive and breed but not enough to grow and turn into males to challenge him and steal some of his harem. The females try to steal extra food by nipping the odd healthy scale or bit of flesh from their "clients" and if the clients react or notice the male will punish the female by literally slapping her around.... No anthropomorphic paralells to be had there....lol
