Red Sea Reefer 650

it’s been about 3 months since I set the system up in my apartment. Here are some of the equipment specs and details on the system:

AQUARIUM
-Red Sea reefer 650 peninsula white

WAVEMAKERS
-3x ecotech Vortech mp40 WQD

RETURN PUMP
-Ecotech vectra m1

LIGHTING
-3x Ecotech radion XR30W g4 pros with RMS mounts

SKIMMER
-Vertex omega 200I

CONTROLLER
-Apex 2016, WXM module for the lighting system

ATO
-Neptune ATK

Dosing
- currently only dosing 2 part Alk, Ca using an apex DOS. I may install a second DOS for magnesium and trace minerals or carbon dosing.

HEATERS
-eheim Jager 200w
-500w titanium

What I’m happy With
- the apex display has cleaned up all wiring in and around the tank. Big thanks to @TORX for all the custom 3D prints for the project.
- I like the rock work layout with the trio of mp40s on the overflow side. It allows enough flow to reach the end of the peninsula without needing a power head

What Could Improve/needs to be Done/added
- May add a refugium in the future
- tablet for easy viewing of tank parameters for the top of the cabinet
- Neptune Trident

Currently I do a 10-15% water change weekly-biweekly on the system. There is no reactors, I don’t test nitrates, phosphates. Alkalinity is stable between 8.8-9.2, I test alkalinity 3 times daily until it behaves exactly how I want. Calcium around 450/460. SPS corals appears to be doing very well. I’ve lost a few shortly after shipping due to them coming in rough condition.

All coral were provided by Canada corals or fragbox. I initially was unhappy with my first fragbox order but they have corrected it and have continued to be great. Canada corals has been amazing from the start. Rob specifically has gone out of his way to help me out. I wouldn’t have this setup if it wasn’t for him.
