I have a BH 1000 and i tossed it up on the 110g ive had my fish in since i moved into my new place. It skims probably 1/2-1 cup of skim a day and ive been super impressed with it. It is really physically large tho..... Be warned.

Used a reef Octopus hob for a while. Was happy with it.
Only issue I ran into was when the ceramic shaft broke. Real tough to be replacement parts. Maybe good to keep one spare on hand.

I have two Reef Octopus 1000 HOB skimmers. They work really well and have pinwheel impellers. My only complaint is its a pain to clean inside the body. They are well made from acrylic... not plastic. Also had issues with impeller shaft breaking due to not properly priming the pump first time using. Parts were easy to order from Canadian supplier.
