Looking for skimmer recommendations guys.

@TORX , I'm just curious how you're liking the Bashsea Twisted skimmer so far? What pump are you running it with?

I'm looking to upgrade from the curve 5 that was running my 45.

I also have a 30g frag tank on the system and about 40g in the sump.... Maybe around 150-160g total water volume after accounting for rock.

Other skimmers I'm considering
Aquamaxx CO-2
Aquamaxx Q2
BM Curve 7
RO Classic 202-S
RO Classic 200INT
SRO 2000

Any suggestions?

Right now I am running the Bashsea Twisted 6-24 on my main display. I have not set up the 6-30 yet. Waiting on a Mag 18 that I bought used to get delivered to me. The 6-24 is out performing what I thought it would on the 120. I have a drain hooked up to a TLF150 canister and I have to empty it in a few days. Hooking up an external canister makes it super easy to drain at that point as well.

I am running a Mag12 on the 6-24 and have it dialed back a bit with a ball valve. It is super easy to clean what needs to be cleaned as it is assembled with thumb screws that do not need a screwdriver to tighten down. I love that it can be internal or external and water level does not affect performance at all either way. The only, and I mean ONLY negative that I have found so far is that it takes a higher wattage pump to run. My Vertex Alpha used a 45 watt pump. The Mag 12 runs on 110watt and when I install the 6-30 the mag 18 runs 150 watts. I counter that with LED lights and DC return pumps making the hydro use negligible. On that note, Mag pumps are known to live pretty much forever and there is nothing that technically can fail in the skimmer itself.

I can see this skimmer set up outlasting me in the hobby.

How many skimmers have you had Torx? I like to stay away from those Mag pumps, too noisy, go with something that had a DC pump, more control, Feed modes

Right now on my display I am running the Bashea Twisted 6-24 and just waiting for the 6-30 to get fired up once a friend gets here with the Mag 12. I will probably sell the 6-24 and Mag 12 at that point. Not sure what you mean about noise, the Mag 12 I have is pretty silent or at least I do not hear it over my DC return. I also am running my sump across the house in another room, so even if there was any noise, it would not matter. No need for more control with the Bashsea as it does not need adjustments during water level changes. I am running a small Bubble Magnus C3.5 on my other tank.
