Slight Bulkhead Leak

Installed brand new bulkheads. Seals are on water side. They did not leak at first. But I had to unthread the drains to shorten them. The one bulkhead turned a bit when i unthreaded the pipe. Now one has a very slight leak. Maybe a drip every five min. It goes into the sump so no big deal.
Short of having to drain the tank and pull the bulk head out, anyone have any thoughts.

I was thinking silicon it.
I have tried tightening more and twisting it a bit. Still leaks same amount.
It is definitely not catastrophic but bugs the hell out of my OCD. LOL

Strange it would leak. Only time I have had them leak is by over tightening them. You could always just put some silicone on the threads, but can make things difficult to get them off. One drip every 5 minutes is a very small leak, and will likely plug itself with salt.

Ya was kinda thinking the same thing. Such a small leak it may seal up. I will ignore it for now. It drips into the sump anyways.
I think the gasket may have gotten tweaked when the bulkhead turned on me. It didn't leak before that. Thanks for the help.

Make sure the gasket is fully seated on the final thread of the bulkhead. I remember when I first did mine, it was slightly off kilter and not fully flush with the bulkhead.

I have had that in the past. I no normally fill the gap between the glass hole and bulkhead threads with silicone to avoid this from happening. It doesn't take much to crack the bulkhead as well. They typically are not solid mold injected, they are 2 pieces glued together. That seam can crack if you over tighten. It is also almost impossible to see the crack.

Silicone won't work if the surface is wet and doesn't stick to the salt film that will be there. And like big show said it might be over tightend

Thanks guys. I will keep an eye on it. Changing it out is not an option now. I would have to drain the whole tank again. It seems to be better already tonight. If it stops, I will silicone the underneath anyways just for insurance.

I'd just forget it but I don't have OCD:( I have a much bigger leak that that, I really need to take my return pipe out. Which I will but I'm not draining the tank to get at besides I'd like to do dual lockline returns
