Something Nipping?

Girlfriend just noticed this hole... do you think something has been eating it? I haven't noticed anything.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hard to tell what it is. Is it a Mushroom, if so it may be getting ready to split. If it starts to turn into a ball by wrapping its skirt over itself and turning it a ball. Mine started to get a bright colour in the center and the hole enlarged and turned into a ball and in a few hours shazam, I have three. It was petty neat to watch, at first I thought it was dieing.
