We all know stress tends to make Nems split...
Just to add to that body of knowledge FWIW....
I have an insane red/orange/green BTA that I got from Jeffopentax that he got from another member. It never split for him and just got huge in my tank.
Recently, to defuse some hostilities that had flared up between my Tomini and my Achilles I had about a week of lights out time, since Tomini is a nighttime sleeper and Achilles is a 24hr grazer and much smaller it gave him some time to feed undisturbed. After that period with the Nem unhappy throughout...I now have two pinkies on the anemone rock....coincidence??? I think not...
