I have debated about trying the new lifeproof case for the iphone.

http://www.lifeproof.com/iphone/?path=TopNav

My boss currently uses it, I have seen it live through being put in: Pint of beer (on a bet for a pitcher of beer) swimming pool, and seen a video of arms length in ocean in Vancouver.

They are 79.99 unfortunately, so I may wait as Otterbox is supposed to be coming out with one.

Im looking to take pictures as nice as some of the ones on here I wasnt thinking about it being waterproof.

Just want to take really nice pictures without having to try and play around with the settings.

I use the Nikon D200 for photos that I take. The lens is what will get you the prize winner shot. A macro lens is the ideal for aquarium photography for the most part.

Lighting is also key, and a slave flash can help a ton to flood light onto what you are taking a picture of.

And clean glass :)

I never use a flash personally.

The two biggest suggestions for aquarium photography I can give is 1 get your white balance right and 2 take the picture from above...they always catch all the colours better.

There's always argument on the subject, but canon makes an absolutely kickass dslr.

I think taking the shots top down as darryl suggested is a good idea although I think you need a photo box thingy to get a good shot.  Pretty easy to make, but you need a nice clean bottom piece of plexi/glass/lexan to pull it off.
