The Last Time I Ever Do This

today, I tore apart my tank AGAIN. The test down and draining takes about 2 hours, and then another 2 hours to refill and replace rocks. Naturally, I redo the aquascape, break some corals, replace some corals, fill my frag tank in a panic, and then stare into the tank for awhile.

Today was even more fun, since I now hang my halides in a light rack! I had to remove the rack and the pendants to be able to get the rocks out of the tank. And to reach in. And to have half a chance at catching the fish.

Then I filled every single bin I had with rocks, and water. And now broken corals.

Then I caught the Achilles, the triggers and the small CBB for Heath (sorry Cliff - I couldn't find the Niger. He showed up once the rocks were back in.... Wtf!?)

So,now everyone is swimming around in their new home, and the frag tank is full. The Achilles is really annoyed in the frag tank, but my yellow tang is happy now he isn't getting beat up. I hope he remembers that feeling when he is bigger.

So now I'm looking for some new fish. angels mostly, and butterflies, and other fun stuff.

Just had to vent.

Sounds like a blast. WHen setting my rock I too said last (and was first) time I ever do this. 3 months in, already I see where I'd want to make changes. There really is just so much you can read online, and get advice on before the need for hands on experience kicks in.

Did you at least get the rockscape exactly how you wanted it? Lets see some pics.

You gonna want a Aussie Copperband? Darren and Dave are getting me one for next shipment. Let them know.

you guys are in naw naw land, you will rescape again and again...trust me, that's part of the hobby...
I hate rescaping, especially when it is not by choice! Some burrower goes a little too deep and rocks shift and and...

Switching to building permanent structures is one of the best things I ever did...

I like the aquascape, lots of room for coral growth. Just be careful of encrusting corals. In a tank like your rockwork encrusting corals can take over. So find a way to segregate them. Something like small removable rocks. Look for corals that will grow up into the open space above. It will give the tank a real depth when you look at it.

I don't really have much in the way of encrusting corals other than a Christmas or chilli monti.

I AM looking for some rainbow, or sunset or something monti that's bright to encrust.
