Too Much Flow?!

im running my gyre around 50% and a single mp40 at about 50% as well. The problem is that the sand keeps moving around lol. On the opposite end as the gyre. I'm not sure if I need to add a rock in that area to break up the flow a little or what! Some advice needed on this one

I wouldn't worry about too much flow at this point. Unless you're planning on obsessively pulling out pumps and cleaning them "real" flow will be less and anyway it's hard to have too much flow for an SPS dominant tank...

what kind of sand did you use? i always use caribsea seafloor special because i run about 60x turnover in my tank and other stuff was too fine

I'd do as Jerry said. Lower the flow for now. As the system matures and you add rocks and corals to the tank it will help break up the flow a bit more and probably cause less sand movement.

Also as your power heads get older. They will build up an organic film over all moving parts which will also reduce flow.
