Tunze 3152 Ato Issue

My tunze ATO was working great for 8 months or so but now problems. Float switch works but pump is cycling on and off about twice a second.
Research on net doesn't help too much. Tried to reset by unplugging for a minute and plugging back in. Runs a quick cycle and turns off. Water evaporates and trips switch like it should. Pump may or may not work. This is concerning. It might as well never work if it's going to fail once in a while...

Anyone had same experience?
Ideas?

I have it in 3rd section of rear chamber on solana tank.
Have a float switch in top off res that trips switch on reefkeeper if res runs low.
No magnets around the sensor.

i dont have any experience with any float switch i opted for the smart ato which is pretty well fool proof. but with my knowledge of electronics it sounds like a bad connection or a short curcuit between the pump and pump controller somewhere
