Vertex 180 Skimmer Pump Problems....ugh

so today i noticed that my new to me skimmer I picked up recently from here wasn't working so i thought maybe the breaker tripped. did a test reset, nothing :-(....
so i took the skimmer apart and the pump off and did an inspection to ensure no blockages, all came back clear. plugged the pump in while it was apart and can here that it is still running, however the impeller wheel barely moves, lucky if it moves a 1/4 turn every few seconds.

I am hoping to avoid having to buy a new pump - so any other owners have any suggestions?

Hats why I retired my in180. Pump fried. But you can try pulling out the impeller and cleaning the magnet and magnet zone with vinegar and qtips to get into the hole, pull all the nasty slime out and try it again. But mine once it had a chance to cool down would work a little bit but then once started outside of the tank you could smell electrical burning. I did manage to jam a mag9 and a few fittings into the side of the skimmer and was able to get it to work for a short time period while my lifereef skimmer was in transport to me. You can always try that.
