What are my corals trying to tell me?

I bought this "yellow" turbinaria from IA about 5 months ago. It was deep purple with bright green polyps.
Crappy pic, but shows the colours pretty well:

It hasn't grown much, but now it is turning green/yellow:

I also bought this coral in April.  I think it is a stag of some sort (please chime in if you know).  It had some white spots that under the actinics in the shop looked a really nice blue.  When I got it home, I found out that it wa brown and purple.
I recently clustered my lights over top of it better and now it too is turning green:

Are they telling me that my lighting is good, or do purple colours turn green in lower light?
I thought it was weird that my yellow turbinaria was purple...

Thanks for your help.

those both also looked very fresh cut so i would guess its part of the healing process, new grow on some colored corals is often green like that. the scroll coral which i believe it is might purple up again if you put it in lower light, but i think it looks better in your second picture.

why is itg called yellow when it was purple.
maybe the person you bought it from artificially did something to it to make it attractive. ive heard of that being done with fish before, only to wear off and go back to natural

Nope, it's a standard yellow scroll coral, purple is the normal  color with yellow polyps,  higher light might make it more yellow than purple tho

That's interesting.  I thought my light would be low if anything.

Maybe I can venture into more SPS...

maybe that is it.. I was just speculating that it would go more yellow in higher lighting, it could be the other way around, not sure.

I got the same coral from the same source and it shifted towards more yellowish like yours.
Have a look at the following link.

On mine I believe I have it under too much light. TBD :)
