Does anyone know what is going on with this guy?

It went from this:

To this:

There is like a white "dead" spot that splits this coral in the middle. It started a little bit on the outer ridge and work its way inward and right down the middle.

This process has taken about 5 days. Can I save it?

It is peeling, I'm assuming from too much light. Where is it located in your tank? Looks like Hollywood stunner chalice?

One other thought, since it looks like it was growing pretty good.... Did another coral land on it, or is close enough to sting it?  Do you have a tuxedo urchin that maybe has a stingy hitchhiker on it?  Seems odd that it would burn in a stripe after obviously growing (and if by chance that was a stunner piece from me, that stuff was a crazy fast grower.  I sold the colony off because it simply grew too fast.

Heh and the murders continue.... ;)

I am out, I sold them all at the 'fest.  I didn't have a place for something that grew outwards so fast and had stingers.

Heh you weren't kidding about your patience eh?  ;)

Chalice is really really really hard.  I sorta know what I'm doing and I struggle with chalice.  You're lucky to have the funds to get a really nice setup, alllll you need is patience.

That said, dibs on your water containers :)

It wouldn't be the first hobby that I abandoned. You should see my retro video game collection, and my transformers collection.

The movies are an abomination to the legacy of transformers. The inaccuracies are too numerous to mention and bug the shit outta me.
