Re: question of the day

Instant Ocean. Just doing what is comfortable there. I have read lots on other salt, but sticking to the basics here, or at least for now.

question of the day

Used 3/4 of a bag of IO, then was recommended by someone to switch to IO reef crystals so that I am putting more good stuff in tank for corals.

I use IO Reef Crystals as well. Very affordable and I pick-up my entire year supply during boxing day sales. I find it to be quite consistant. I can mix up batches of water without even pulling out the refractometer. I just count the cups and it works out within +/- .001 salinity every time. Might not be the best salt on the market but has the best bang for your buck.

I also use instant ocean reef crystals.  My husband picks it up in Hamilton for me at Mail order Pet Supplies as he is down that direction every day for work.  Their prices are good all year round.
And +1 to what Derek said.

...no.....regular IO is the best bang for the buck. :).  It's the only salt Ive used and it works.  Some of the best tanks in the world use it so I find no need to spend more on something else.

Re: question of the day

IO in the beginning, nice a cheap!! Then had to add all kinds of supplements. Far too costly for my liking. Tried a few others without impressing me. Ended up with IO reef crystals for like 8 months now, and I Lv it!!
