Wild Ricordia!

I was in Dominican Republic the week before Christmas and although this was not suppose to be a dive trip I managed to sneak in a few dives at Catalina Island. I always see lots of fish and inverts that we are use to seeing in the hobby such as Royal Gramma, Queen Angels, Rock Beauties, Coral Banded Shrimp, Arrow Crabs etc. but in all my years of diving the Caribbean I've yet to come across any Ricordea Florida Mushrooms. Until now! Found this huge colony right below the dive boat as I was about to surface. They were at about 25 feet.

Nice very nice :) you should make a waterproof LED light to see how crazy it would look in tank. I'm amazed at how big a difference there is with just whites and wonder how those coral propagators can tell how they would look in tank. I wish my tank would grow some of that orange sponge it's cool.

I definitely want to improve my camera for better underwater pics. These pics don't do the corals justice, they were stunning!
