I have had a clownfish going strong for about a month now.
Seeing as he is doing good im planning on adding another.

Anything to look for when selecting a pair for him or her now i guess?
Im guessing just look for a healthy smaller fish to make sure I don't get two females?

i shouldnt matter, one will change to the opposite sex if you have 2 the same, breeding is another story

c/p:
sexless to male never to sexless again and male to female never to male again. They may spend their entire life as a sexually immature fish depending on their environment.

i stand corrected

I read somewhere they can change from male to female, but once they are female they cant go back to male?
and two females will just fight until one dies or stay separated all the time.
Any truth in this?

I've read similar - they start as males and eventually, the dominant one in a pair will convert.  If they are pretty small, I wouldn't worry too much - probably not decided yet.

Your best bet is to find one that is a fair bit smaller than the one you have now. The smaller of the two will become the male. To avoid any fighting, the smaller, the better.
