Anyone built a beananimal overflow?

Specifically, has anyone built one smaller than the one here http://www.beananimal.com/projects/silent-and-fail-safe-aquarium-overflow-system.aspx

I'm trying to get something quite small, but with silent operation.

mines smaller than the original  i used 1" piping, in my thread on the first page you can see all of it in photos. I run a heck of alot of flow through it too, so i cant see why scaling it down to even 3/4 wouldnt be possible if your going with a "small" tank setup and still be able to handle up to 5-600gph if needed.

I scaled mine up to 1 1/2" for the 200gal and have it throttled 80%...hindsight... :?
