I seen someone in the Michigan forums has one to give away ...cuz they say say they need a steady flatworm diet to thrive.?he got it fir getting his flatworms  but says there all gone.  So wants to give away to someone having flatworm problems. So it can live

do you have AEFW flatworms?

Melanurus Wrasse a.k.a. hoeven's wrasse, orage tipped rainbow fish, tailspot wrasse would be your best choice.  They hunt down monti munching nudi's, flatworms, and other pests.

Coral Revive, and Coral Rx as a preventative dip is the first line  of defense, along with treating infested colonies.

Never had AEFW's but i hear they are a bitch to eliminate.

Melanurus needs a sand bed to sleep in (fyi for Teebone whos running bare bottom) Mixed reviews as to whether or not they will eat ornamental shrimp. SUM in Toronto seems to be the place to get them  - though Gary and Linda are expecting a big fish shipment shortly and it might be in there  ;)

Great info everyone. I currently have both a sixline a yellow coris wrasse working on my red flatworms, not sure if they are eating it or whether they can keep up? I think it is hit or miss, based on the specific individual wrasse. Definetly worth a try. Last night I siphoned out several hundred, and things look decent. The good news is that these flatworms aren't really harmful, just a nuisance to look at. I would be interested to see how the blue velvet nudi does. They are pretty cool looking too!

Thanks chuck for all the info on the AEFW, thankfully these guys aren't in my tank.

I have had these red flatworms for some time and didn't notice. I hope others don't have these, as they are easily mistaken for small flecks of brown/red flake algae. If you look closely they move slowly, have a red head and a whitish-coloured tail. They can easily hide on frags or rocks from others tanks. Moving foreward, I think I will be giving more attention to quarantine or Coral Rx dipping practises.

Just been informed the shipment with the nudil's won't be available till Sat Oct 8th thanks to the airlines  :-[
