Bristleworms.

Recently found these red bristleworms in my tank feeding on a dead anthias. Question is, are these just normal detrivores or will they hunt and kill fish?

IMO they will just eat food or things that are dead I don’t think they would touch anything if it’s healthy and alive

I pull them out of mine when I see them, used to have a fish gone missing, not any more. Obviously can't say it was them, however no more deaths since removing them.... coincidence perhaps.

Beneficial detrivores however I pull them when they’re out crawling across corals, because the worms irritate the corals. But if they’re consuming fish or inverts, it’s because they’re already dead or dying. And if they’re out in daylight crawling around it means there are too many! imo.

Mine hang under the coral and rock, I left one up and there they are, the small ones I leave, once they get to a couple inches they are out.
