In my nano I'm starting to get these 'bubbles' of brown and I'm not sure what they are, been trying to look them up with no luck. They look smooth and inflated like a bubble almost but are not round in shape, more like twisted. So any idea what they are? Thanks!

I was thinking that but disregarded it because it looked too smooth unlike the rough texture you usually see on sponges, but I may be wrong.

Nah I've got a ton of very smooth sponges, various colours.  I have black ones that can be 24" or more, stretched out in the unlit areas.

I would be willing to throw a few bucks on a Colpomenia sp. C. Peregrina is common in cold water but could have a tropical relative as well.

Wow that might be it, from all the pictures I looked up and descriptions under that name I think your right. I'll have to get a closer look at it but seems there's a few people out there with it in their tanks, thanks for the help :)
