C02 Scrubber

Just curious if anyone is running a scrubber to raise PH? I setup a basic unit, but before making more permanent and advanced wanted see what others were doing.

I am not- I see many other you tubers run these to increase ph

So far it is working to raise Ph, over night my tank dips usually to 7.9 with a daily high 8.2. Overnight my low was 8.06 and is already higher than my typical 8.2.

I ran a co2 scrubber for a couple years but the media started to get hard to get so I switched to running outside air to my skimmer with almost equal results

I looked at that option, how far was your run? I’m guess I would need 30-35’ minimum.

I'm about 15 feet, I ran 3/4 cpvc and used a bulkhead strainer stuffed with cotton balls as a filter and reduced to 1/2" tubing at the skimmer

I tried it a few years ago but it wasn’t very cost effective would burn through it really fast . I also have my skimmer sucking air in from outside I’m not sure if I did when I tried the co2 absorbent though.

My new low was 8.15 and high 8.3. I’ll take a look this weekend to see if I can get fresh air in a little easier.

I run outside air to skimmer , made about .1 difference , 4 foot run
