Why not get a 10 gallon tank?  You could probably get one for $10.  I use a 20 gallon tank for my topoff.  Round containers tank up too much space if you're putting it under your tank....

Build a nice tall skinny one out of acrylic if you want it under your stand. $45 for a 2x4 sheet if you want some I have 2 sheets available. $10 for bottle of liquid Weldon, lasts about 6 days before evaps.

I use an IO pail, I have one of the older ones with the screw on lid.

Have you tested the water after it's been in for a day or two?  I was told these arent food safe and leach. I have a square Red Sea st pail that would perfect.

$45 for a 2x4 sheet

WHAT!!!!

I pay that for a 4x8 sheet 1/4"    Plastic World Downsview ON

Sorry that caught my eye cause I was at their store today.

Costs more than that :) But yes, That is a touch pricey for a 1/4 sheet.

It also depends on the dimensions you plan to go with. Too tall, and it can fail. I use 3/8" for taller RO holders.

I use one of those camping water containers, looks like this:

They have a #2 on the bottom, HDPE

A good read for plastics and leaching: http://www.3reef.com/forums/general-reef-topics/reef-safe-plastics-leaching-myths-facts-57828.html#.Uv7MpvldV8E

That's a great article victoss.

Seems my salt buckets are #5 which should be good.  Going to do a trial and see what happens.
