Yep. I originally thought you wanted a skimmer for larger bio load. The curve 7 would be similar bio load wise to the in-250 I think.

Ok. The in250 seems to be handling current bioload fine, just noisy and gigantic! Thanks for the help!

Seems like a dumb question, but you never know in this hobby! Are skimmers with the pump inside the body generally quieter than skimmers with pump outside?

any pinwheel pump will make noise as it forces air through you cant really ever make it dead silent..... only other option is one with an air stone but then you hear the air pump. i cant even hear my skimmer pump but do hear the air bubbles being pushed through

It's definitely motor hum/vibration that is driving me nuts. Guess i'll just get the curve 7 and admit defeat if it isn't any quieter!
