I know that Calcium Reactors are being phased out and more people are Dosing, Is it easy to set-up your dosers and do you require a Controller to use one effectively?

Nope, a good test kit, and an ordinary timer is all you need.
Test once, record, test again in a couple days and see how much was used and dose that amount ... Doing some simple math of course .

Dosing pump works well. There 150 bucks to 500 bucks.
I would recommend a dosing pump. I just don't trust a timmer. Plus the dosing pump will do more for you and has a memory when the power goes out.

Oh Poseidon, I spent 100 hrs in research and I have another 200 hours to spend, plus couple grands to build a sophisticated super doser .... And you tell me that I just need a timer....?....Poseidon link said:
Jewel. I think Poseidon is right. An electronic timer (with backup battery) and a very low volume pump or a dosing pump can do it. I use an Aqualifter AW-20 for my ATO, with a timer. Basically I am "dosing" pure water. I think it should work for other dosing, too.
