"Good Husbandry"

I see these two words plastered everywhere I look, and I'm always curious what is meant.  I believe it's one of those phrases that varies greatly in it's meaning depending on the reader.  We all have the best of intentions, obsess over our tanks, and strive to make them as happy and healthy as possible.

Please share your interpretations as to what constitutes "good husbandry."

Good husbandry refers (IMO) to overall tank maintenance.

Water changes
Top offs
Testing
Blasting the rocks
Feeding the fish
etc...

Pretty much everything that implies taking care of the tank and keeping it up to snuff.

And according to that list, I am pretty much a deadbeat husband at times. lol.

Doing the best your able to look after what ever it is your looking after, - so research , good equipment , proper testing and water changes etc,

if your slacking and not keeping up with maintenance  on your tank. That's bad husbandry because your not really caring about your animals as much as you should...
That's my definition :)

At least that's all I know about husbandry.

Never deciding your tank doesn't need something just because doing the right thing is a lot of work.

Always questioning your own practices to keep them continually improving.

Although in general terms for most people it means STOP OVERFEEDING!  CHANGE SOME WATER!

Also...the latest greatest reactor or dosing pump etc etc is not the answer to your problems, people were keeping great reefs before they existed....

Yeah, I often cross the line of good taste and venture into the grey zone of questionable morals.....

I have no one to represent so I can post as I please. The worst that happens is that I get banned.
