I know there are a few fishermen on here...

Slow summer fish for me. I've been out 3-4 times a week all summer, mostly out in Lake St Clair. We've only had a handful of good days.

Mid August I went on a Muskie charter out of Belle River (Captain Dan) and we caught 12. Two were over 50 inches. The largest was 53in and 36lbs.

Lately, I've been trying to get on the perch but they've been really hit and miss out here. The lake still needs to drop a few degrees before the school up and head to shallower water to feed.

We were fishing for Walleye in the mouth of the Johnston River but got into the largest school of white perch I've ever seen.

I got to reel in two of the smaller fish that day.  :(

Ive been out on the river a bunch of times. Its been very slow. Not the greatest year for fishing.
We go up north every year for a week. The fishing was slow there too.
I"m hoping too get out next week again.
Havn't made it too mithelles bay yet, usually go there a few times a year.
Seems its slow everywhere.
Nice musky Rick.
How do the white perch taste, any differant. Ive never caught one.

There very good to eat. The key is to keep them cold until you get home and clean them. Although, nothing beats the taste of Yellow Perch yummy!!!

I'm heading out bright and early tomorrow to get in a full day of off shore fishing. I'll let you know how I make out.

Fishing has been great this year. I had no idea that others liked to fish on here as well!

Lots of walleye under the Bluewater bridge right now.

Great perchin rick, looks like some good eating.

Down here we call those white perch, silver bass.
They are kind of a nuisance if u ask me.. Almost as bad as those gobys used to be.

White perch look almost identical to silver bass and are common to catch in Lake Erie/Ontario. I caught my first one in Lake St Clair, last year.

Silver Bass

Very iridescent and silver, horizontal stripes, native species, not so tasty

White Perch

Solid white but larger ones can become darker near their dorsal fin, no stripes, invading species, tasty
