Lfs Mystery Coral

Stopped in at the tropical fish room today to grab some supplies in anticipation of getting my tank wet. A fella had been in earlier and traded a couple corals in, but the owner couldn't remember the name of this piece, wondering if someone could be so kind as to ID it for me? The one I'm referring to is the large brown/green one in the back. Sorry, I'm still learning!

Looks like a pavona

Its a pavona and appears to be in very poor health

They call it a mint pavona and like big show mentioned it is in bad condition. It should look like this.

Ouch... Wow, that's definitely in a sad state then... Thanks for the ID. I wasn't planning to purchase it, as my tank isn't even cycled yet, it just annoys me that nothing in that frag tank is labeled when I go in there.. That's a gorgeous looking coral (when healthy) and I'll definitely be looking to add one in the coming months!

On the plus side...your pic made me stop by and pick up the Alien Eye Chalice....(bottom left of the pic). It's healthy but coloured down....most of the tank was struggling...other than the softies.

The color issue should spring back soon under proper conditions. You can find some sweet corals like that and once they color up they are stunning.
