No. Not at all. They are fine for like a Fish Only setup but that is all.

I had a reef capable one and I had good growth in my corals.

I had the "reef capable" fixture. If I was you I would go with a nicer setup to prevent having to upgrade again down the road.

Chewy come by the house sometime and take a look at a DIY setup. That light you posted is no better than a regular freshwater fish light.

+1... dont waste your money.
it will be fine at first. til you realize you are not getting good growth. then you will regret it cause.

The light isn't bad as a FOWLR but good for Corals NO, It depends on what your plans are. Lighting for a Reef tank are expensive, mind you they are coming down in price. If you stay with your 55 which I doubt but if you do. Look for a 4 Bulb T5HO light.
