Matt Dean Is In The House! :)

Hey all. I'm Matt Dean. I'm a real estate agent in the GTA. I used to make my living as a musician and still do it on the side. You can check out MattDean.com if you are interested.

I've been on other forums but they are pretty dead and I heard about this forum and thought I would drop in. Been reefing for a few years now with varied success. Here is a little history of my tanks:

Started in saltwater with a 46 Gallon bow front tank:

Then renovated my 'man cave' to accommodate a 5' X 2' X 20" 125 gallon peninsula with a 55 gallon sump. Here it is in 2011:

Then a little remodelling in 2013:

It's a peninsula, so here is the other side:

This year, I restarted the tank, as I had some problems with pests - blue clove polyps taking over and cyano (thanks to bio-pellets). All new rock, sand and corals. So this is the tank now, after a few months. Still lots of corals- mostly SPS - to add and grow in:

Note: The colours are very close in the pictures to what you see in real life.

Cheers!

Beautiful tank, were you the guy that brought in a lot of stuff to coral reef shop when you decided to redo the tank?

Your tank was always inspiring to me, one of the reasons I am setting up a peninsula now.

That's going to be an awesome tank Strobe! I can't wait to see it up and running. If you want to come by and check out my tank in person and see the rock work, let me know. But I only WISH I could have set up the plumbing and electrical the way you did! Mine is such a mrs, with no room. Having that space behind the tank is priceless.

Welcome to this forum Matt. Love the tank photos, that Achilles and blond naso look sweet! Love the arch in your scape as well, once all that SPS grows back out, going to look fantastic ;)
