I have been running one for a short while on my IM NUVO 20 Concept Dropoff which replaced an MP10wQD. I absolutely love it and probably more then the MP10. More to come, just wanted to get this out there.

I have 2 Nero 5s on one peninsula 650 and Mp40s on the other. I personally would take the mp40s any day.

Each has their own preference depending on what they want out of their set up vs cost etc. The Nero 5 and MP40 are not really compatible pumps though if you are referring to flow. The Nero 5 is only rated at 3000 gph while the mp40 is 4500 gph. The Nero 3 is 2000 gph which is quite the output at half the size of the Nero 5

Yes there is a wire now but now there isn't a wire and huge dry side hanging on the outside. That is just preference though.

I have a Nero 5 and yes theres a wire but it is a small diameter wire, i love it, its pretty powerful for a small pump, it'll push the water across my 125 6ft tank with ease. I like that its bluetooth as well and i plan in getting 2 Nero 3 to put on the back of the tank facing forward. Good quality, not Jebao

You’ll need a lot more than just 1 Nero 5 on a 125. Good plan with the 3s. I have two on a 5x2 150 and I’m upping the flow with two more gyres. They just don’t move enough water. Wish I would have gone with mp40s on that tank as well.

I dont think you can compare the MP line up to anything else and the price reflects that, if i had the coin and had all my Coral and Fish that i wanted, then I'd be saving for Ecotech products. Fantastic products, doesn't Ecotech own AI who makes the Nero pumps.

Yes, ecotech and AI merged several years ago.

I as well would recommend 2 5's and then add the 3's as needed.
