Looks like it could be some type of pagoda cup.  Its hard to tell from the pictures but thats my guess.  Does it look something like this?

I have some yellow scroll and it doesnt look like that.
Is there maybe differant types Pat.

Looking at it on computer now it almost looks like there are patches of polyps on some of the "eyes" . Can you get a closer photo?

Those are polyps , scrolls grow different they can grow like a monti cap or "scroll" or "cup". If its a chalice it's lost color. But from the purplish and yellow colors I'm almost certain it's a scroll, but hey I could be wrong Jack. Chalice don't have polyps like that, they do have polyps but you only see them come out a night on chalice.

I think it is a yellow scroll I have a pogoda and it dont look like that.
